We are embracing retirement, and making the most of it.

We knew we were never going to sit still for long, so whilst we are happy and healthy we will be out and about seeing the world………… full time.

We are out of the fast lane and taking the slow road ahead

Whitsunday Wanderers

We have visited Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays many times, but this time it was school holidays and wanted to be off the roads, and out of caravan parks, so were pleased to find a private acreage home stay just 2 minutes from everything, (just between Cannonvale and Woodwark) but still very secluded and room for only about 6 vans/motorhomes, and a place to call home for 12 nights. This is where having our own water, solar and amenities works well for us.

Daily walk along sections of the 10km Bicentennial Walk from Cannonvale to the Marina in Airlie

Hiked lookouts

Chilled by the beach, it was actually great to see tourism picking up at long last.

We had time to visit places around the region and did a few of the many walks in the Conway National Park,

Coral Bay and the Beak

Diner at Conway Bay, was worth the drive

Visited Cedar Creek falls on the way back

Dingo Beach on Cape Gloucester was also another region worth exploring

I named the blog Whitsunday Wanderers in memory of the first place I stayed in Airlie back in 1977, Whitsunday Wanderers is now closed and run down since Cyclone Debbie 2017.
