We are embracing retirement, and making the most of it.

We knew we were never going to sit still for long, so whilst we are happy and healthy we will be out and about seeing the world………… full time.

We are out of the fast lane and taking the slow road ahead

Bowen......discovered

The A1 highway weaves its way through the southerly end of Bowen, and is not very attractive. On the recommendation of friends we booked in to Horseshoe Bay on the northern side of Bowen, and feel like we discovered Bowen for the first time.  Small bays surrounded by granite boulders, picturesque walks between bays, along the beach fronts and to high vantage points made our visit superb.

Our camp spot

Grays Beach in front of our Campground, (from pedestrian lookout) we caught the long weekend and the caravan park was jam packed full for half our stay, but that’s okay, when there is so much to explore.

My brother Paul and sisterinlaw Christine were in North Queensland visiting with their grandchildren when we were in Airlie, so we met up for a fun day in Bowen. It was so exciting to spend precious time together with family.

We all helped find our 600th cache on the end of the pier

Interesting mega wild life, in Bowen and Ayr

Bird of the week was so unexpected
