We are embracing retirement, and making the most of it.

We knew we were never going to sit still for long, so whilst we are happy and healthy we will be out and about seeing the world………… full time.

We are out of the fast lane and taking the slow road ahead

Banff “free day”

A summit over looking the town was too irresistible. Derek and I walked the 25 minutes to the trail head, and then up to the top of Tunnel Mountain. It was a short hike of 35 minutes, but what a fabulous view over the town.

Todays Lunch Room

Two geocaches later, we were back down the trail and into the town for some souvenir shopping, a rain coat shell that will actually keep Derek and his back pack dry, and a fresh pizza to take back to the hotel to cook. We caught the local bus back to the hotel as we had complimentary bus passes. Another very warm day, and only one short rain shower.....Derek got a chance to use the rain coat.  We are chalking up an average of 15km walking most days.

Town centre and a view of the summit.

We regrouped in the evening for a drive to the Hot Springs. I had 3 very bad bites on my shins still trying to heel, so thought it best to stay out of the hot springs.

We now have matching hoodies !

Banff was a very pretty, but busy town, with heaps of places to eat, souvenir shops, golf course and a great starting point for the drive north up to Jasper along Icefields Parway road.
