We are embracing retirement, and making the most of it.

We knew we were never going to sit still for long, so whilst we are happy and healthy we will be out and about seeing the world………… full time.

We are out of the fast lane and taking the slow road ahead

Still Struggling

With the risk of sounding like the weather channel, it is cold and now also wet. The kids have been house bound all week with more rain to come. This also means it is snowing on the alps.  So if I ever get over this cough and aches and pains we may be able to get away.  Derek has come good, but after 2 days early last week of feeling ok, I am worse than ever....and I haven't even had as much as a runny nose in 7 years.
Jess has spent the weekend (since Friday and back Monday) in Melbourne with the Young Womens basketball team, and Jonny has had a night of throwing up (2 days after Jenna did), so in my weakend state, and as much as we love to help out, we have coped with the kids as best we can.
The sun popped out on Friday, so managed to get some sun and fresh air with Jayde..
Today's Monday, Jonny is sick and Jacey has mumps. Seriously! Jess is back and I am locking myself in our home and not coming out until I am well.

  1. Oh Michelle, I feel for you. Perhaps you've taken on too much too soon & having to cope with the extreme cold damp weather (compared to sunny Qld) you've succumbed. Hope you get better soon & yes - MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF TO GET BETTER or you will be ill for some time. At least you are close to the kids & you don't have to travel far when you're needed or when you need help & pampering. I hope you enjoyed your time in Sovereign Hill and the skiing. At least that trip will lift your spirits even if you don't feel well. By the photo of you & Jayde you look like you're rugged up for the cold. Perhaps you may need to wear your ski boots to keep out the cold, I used to live in mine in England during the winter. Just imagine all the winter gear you can buy to keep you warm, at least you'll get the use of it. Glad to hear Derek is doing so well & what a bargain for the squash courts!! All the best & hope you ALL are well soon. Bye
