We are embracing retirement, and making the most of it.

We knew we were never going to sit still for long, so whilst we are happy and healthy we will be out and about seeing the world………… full time.

We are out of the fast lane and taking the slow road ahead

Seriously? #1

Dr Who was visiting Glenlyon in Victoria today.

Eureka

Today we enjoyed seeing a few more sights around Ballarat. The view from Black Hill lookout to Sovereign Hill, the amazing architecture prominent all through the city, Memorial Avenue which reminded us of Paris and the Eureka Stockade monuments.

Countryside drive to Ballarat

The map we used in the phone must have been programmed for the most scenic route between Finley and Ballarat. In 4 hours we travelled the majority of the way on C or B class roads at 100km, virtually had the road to ourselves, went over rolling hills with vineyards, valleys with sheep and cows, olive groves, passed through historic towns and villages with old stone churches. Looking forward to tomorrow and Tuesday as we explore Sovereign Hill and more of Ballarat.

Creepy Critters

Whilst the three older ones were at soccer training, we had a fun time minding Jayde.  Does this bring back memories of the 60's.  Creepy Critters.

We are both on the back end of the flu, and have booked a few days for a visit to Sovereign Hill and its Winter Wonderland for next week, and skiing at Mt Hotham the following week.  yay!

Thanks for following....

Still Struggling

With the risk of sounding like the weather channel, it is cold and now also wet. The kids have been house bound all week with more rain to come. This also means it is snowing on the alps.  So if I ever get over this cough and aches and pains we may be able to get away.  Derek has come good, but after 2 days early last week of feeling ok, I am worse than ever....and I haven't even had as much as a runny nose in 7 years.
Jess has spent the weekend (since Friday and back Monday) in Melbourne with the Young Womens basketball team, and Jonny has had a night of throwing up (2 days after Jenna did), so in my weakend state, and as much as we love to help out, we have coped with the kids as best we can.
The sun popped out on Friday, so managed to get some sun and fresh air with Jayde..
Today's Monday, Jonny is sick and Jacey has mumps. Seriously! Jess is back and I am locking myself in our home and not coming out until I am well.
