We are embracing retirement, and making the most of it.

We knew we were never going to sit still for long, so whilst we are happy and healthy we will be out and about seeing the world………… full time.

We are out of the fast lane and taking the slow road ahead

Gorgeous Golden Beach

We are still finding settling in a challenge to balance organising trade quotes with making our home somewhat liveable.  We now have a bed, washer, drier, our old fridge back and microwave, as well as use of our camping table and some old chairs.

We have completed a 20 hour road trip to Cairns for New Year and Blakes 2nd Birthday, followed by only 1 week back at home before I head back to Cairns for 2 weeks and Derek to our daughter’s …both on child minding duties as the school term begins early for teachers.  Always happy for any opportunity to spend time with our gorgeous grand kiddies, and Derek will definitely get to use his Theme Park pass…I think Movie World was mentioned.

But Golden Beach is awesome, we pinch ourselves every day that we live here and are so grateful for the life style it offers us.  We are back to 6km daily walks thanks to our visitor Lindsey (Derek’s sister) always keen to be outside, and an early morning riser, (who brought her own bed/motor home).

We hear the sound of the ocean now Bribie Island has split into two just 12 months ago. Last report it is now 750 m wide and at low tide you can walk across the sand bars to the island, which we will do in a couple of weeks. We enjoy great sea breezes which is a bonus as our home has no air conditioning at this stage.

Love the Pandanus Trees

We can walk south to Diamond Head/Bells Creek part of Golden Beach (below) or north towards the Caloundra CBD along the highly trafficked coastal path. It’s all great though!
