We are embracing retirement, and making the most of it.

We knew we were never going to sit still for long, so whilst we are happy and healthy we will be out and about seeing the world………… full time.

We are out of the fast lane and taking the slow road ahead

We Made It

We made it to Cairns, which completes a full lap of Australia. 138 stops and 35,000 km (most of it in WA) Yay…

We were excited to see our grand kiddies, and Craig and Sara after a long 12 months.

Polishing shells we collected ready to string them together to make a wind chime, our day together was very special and long overdue.

Warm enough to swim at our Caravan Park

Playtime at Bluey’s with her friends (today we are visiting Unicorn).we play for hours!

The weather has been fabulous sitting around 28° and 18° at night so loving winter in the tropics. We have started our morning walks along Barron River, slowly getting back into it, Derek’s cough is still hanging on.

This graffiti is new

But…today we are off to Brisbane, staying with Jessima, to attend our niece’s Wedding.

Flu and Floods and Convalescing

After another week of heavy rain our van sprang a leak in the roof and half filled our fruit bowl on the bench. We discovered this when we went back to the Sunshine Coast to pick it up.  For the next 3 days water dripped inside from different spots depending on our level.  We are booked into Cairns Repairers for an insurance assessment.

Also we both came down with influenza A, so had a miserable week in Proserpine barely moved out of the van, after making a mad dash north to avoid more heavy rain, then 6 nights at Seaforth near Mackay to convalesce by the sea in 25° sunny days, with our dear friends from Bribie Isl. exactly what we needed.

Afternoon tea

A spot of fishing

Red Cliff Islands walk at low tide …and returned on sunset

A lovely shared BBQ lunch at Halliday Bay, a fish, a swim, tranquil clear water

Judy was great for sunrise photos

Bird of the week..Curlew, would sit around our van for hours

So comfy he fell asleep
